TTAG Global Research Committee

To achieve our mission and objectives, we operate through specialized committees, each offering expertise in critical areas aligned with our goals.

A cornerstone of TTAG’s mission is to actively support and contribute to national and international research initiatives. This includes fostering greater Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) and championing patient-driven research by ensuring their inclusion from the outset in defining study concepts and designs.

The TTAG International Research Committee serves as the hub for these efforts, uniting stakeholders to advance research that is inclusive, impactful, and aligned with patient needs and priorities.

Chair: Dr. Kinga Tomczak

The TTAG International Research Committee is Chaired by Dr. Kinga Tomczak.
Dr. Tomczak is a highly accomplished pediatric neurologist at Boston Children’s Hospital and a faculty member at Harvard Medical School, with extensive expertise spanning genetics, neurology, and neuropsychology.
She earned her MD and PhD from the Polish Academy of Sciences in 2000 and 2011, respectively.

Her postdoctoral training in genetics, genomics, and pediatric neurology was conducted under the mentorship of Dr. Alan Beggs at Harvard Medical School, where she honed her skills at some of Boston’s most prestigious institutions. In 2020, Dr. Tomczak established the Tic Disorders and Tourette Syndrome Program, providing dedicated care to a broad community of patients in the Boston area and beyond. Her leadership and vision will be instrumental in driving TTAG’s research initiatives forward.

TTAG Research Subcommittees

The TTAG International Research Committee drives collaboration and innovation across the Tourette Syndrome (TS) research community. To achieve our goals, we operate through three focused subcommittees:

1. Global Research Calendar

This subcommittee maintains a centralized, up-to-date calendar of TS-related research activities worldwide. By tracking key conferences, publications, and milestones, we ensure that researchers, clinicians, and advocates stay informed and engaged.

2. Communicating TS Research

Responsible for summarizing and disseminating key findings, this team crafts concise, accessible summaries of research articles, event outcomes, and other TS-related materials. Our work amplifies the impact of research by making it understandable and actionable for diverse audiences.

3. Planning Research Events

This subcommittee curates topics and organizes themes for TTAG’s research events and webinars. By identifying emerging areas of interest, we foster meaningful dialogue and advance the global research agenda.
