At the ESSTS Conference 2026 in Ljubljana, TTAG President Michele Dunlap welcomed delegates with a powerful call to bridge science and lived experience in Tourette Syndrome.
Highlighting insights from TTAG’s global pre-conference survey, the speech emphasized the need to see people beyond symptoms, diagnosis, and behaviour, and to recognize lived experience as essential knowledge that should help shape research, care, and advocacy.
Framed by Ljubljana’s symbolism as a “city of bridges,” the address challenged the field to continue to build stronger connections between clinical expertise and the realities of daily life, ensuring that meaningful progress remains grounded in the voices of those most impacted.
