Looking back at 2024: A Year of Growth, Advocacy, and Global Impact!

Successfully completed Annual General Assembly April 26th!

AGM is not only a formal meeting, but also a time to take a look behi.

Guided by a dynamic and dedicated team, TTAG brings together professional expertise and lived experience to drive meaningful change for the gobal Tourette Syndrome community.

With passion and purpose, our Board is committed to raising awareness, fostering understanding, and empowering individuals with Tics and Tourette Syndrome. Together, we are shaping a future where every individual is respected, supported, and given the opportunity to thrive.

The year 2024 has been a transformative one for TTAG, marked by unprecedented growth, strengthened collaborations, and meaningful advancements in advocacy, education, and research.

A key milestone was supporting Ambassador Christina Papakaliatis in establishing Tourette Greece as an official association by the end of the year. This achievement reinforces our global network, creating new opportunities for advocacy, collaboration, and support in Greece and beyond.

Expanding Our Global Network
Our community saw remarkable expansion, with a 100% increase in membership, reflecting the rising global engagement in our mission.
This year, we proudly welcomed Acovastta (Spain), Stichting GdlT (Netherlands), AFSGT (France), Tourettes Action (UK), PSST (Poland), Ampastta (Spain), and TANZ (New Zealand) into the TTAG family. Their addition strengthens our collective efforts in awareness, advocacy, and support for the Tourette community worldwide. This success was further amplified by the addition of four new Ambassadors from Argentina, Colombia, Greece, and Peru, whose expertise and enthusiasm have already made a significant impact on our initiatives.

Strengthening Leadership & Expertise
To further our mission, we enhanced our leadership structure by appointing distinguished experts to chair key TTAG committees, reinforcing our commitment to advocacy, research, and education:

TTAG Research Committee Chaired by Dr. Kinga Tomczak

TTAG Education Committee Chaired by Kathy Giordano

Advancing Education & Awareness
We continued to prioritize knowledge-sharing through two engaging webinars featuring renowned international experts, Dr. Kevin Black and Dr. Erica Greenberg. These sessions sparked critical conversations, deepened understanding, and provided valuable insights to the global TS community. As part of our International Women’s Day campaign, we spotlighted inspiring women – both with and without lived experience – to highlight their achievements and advocate for greater inclusivity and gender equality within the Tourette community.

TTAGs session at ESSTS Conference in Varese, ItalyAt the ESSTS Conference TTAG hosted a dedicated session titled:
Shifting the Paradigm of Tourette: Embracing Opportunities, Acknowledging Challenges, andCultivating a Fresh Perspective!” This platform strengthened our global presence, fostering dialogue among leading experts, advocates, and researchers. It was a pivotal opportunity to share our work, exchange insights, and collaborate on advancing awareness, research, and support for TS.
